International Technological Nomadism Symposium

On October 19-20, Espacio Fundación Telefónica in Buenos Aires, will be hosting the colloquium Nomadismos tecnológicos / Technological Nomadisms in partnership with Instituto Sergio Motta. The event will provide a critical overview of communications technology, the culture of mobility and contemporary types of nomadism.

Coordinated by Giselle Beiguelman (ISM) and Jorge la Ferla (EFT), speakers will include Wendy Chung (Brown University), Martha Ladly (Ontario College of Art and Design), Nelson Brissac Peixoto (philosopher, curator of Arte e cidade), Lucia Santaella (PUC-SP), Tim Cresswell (Royal Holloway, University of London), Andrea Di Castro (Centro Multimedia, Cuidade de Mexico), Cicero Inácio da Silva (Mackenzie), David McIntosh (Ontario College of Arts and Design), Lucas Bambozzi (multimedia artist), Marcus Bastos (PUC-SP), Mariela Yeregui (Universidad Tres de Febrero), Alejandro Artopoulos and Hernan Galperín (Universidad de San Andrés). At the same time there´s the Geografía Celulares exibhition that presents works of brazilian artists that question the digital culture through out mobile devices. The artists are: Lucas Bambozzi, Giselle Beiguelman y Maurício Fleury, Lea van Steen y Raquel Kogan, Rachel Rosalen y Rafael Marchetti, Nacho Duran.
