»Julius von Bismarck«
The medium of light transversing a space is the very property that makes space experiential, and therefore 'real'. Julius then might use optical elements such as mirrors and lenses, to add an-other dimension to these physical spaces. Drawing on techniques from visual arts, film, social and physical sciences, Julius develops the appropriate tools for each of his works out of conducted experiments. His recent research focus on natural energies and forces, such as sunlight, gravity and atmospheric pressure; forces he makes experiential through an augmentation of physical space. Growing up between Saudi-Arabia and Germany, Julius studied and worked in New York and Berlin, here since 2009 at the Institut für Raumexperimente by Olafur Eliasson. Since winter term 05/06 student at UDK, currently in Prof. Sauter's digital class.
